Why choosing exactly how you want your wedding is the best choice ever:

R + Z decided to have a private ceremony before their larger, traditional wedding the following year. For them, officially becoming husband and wife was a moment they wanted to experience privately, without outside pressures or distractions.

The Santa Barbara Courthouse made for the most BEAUTIFUL backdrop, and we took our time exploring multiple spots, including the iconic spiral staircase and tower that overlooks the city. The architecture was amazing to work with, but what I loved the most was seeing how much pure joy they radiated. Even though he’s usually on the shy side, he couldn’t stop smiling and matching her excitement. Watching them soak in that “just married” feeling was so wholesome and unforgettable. We were able to spend about a hour exploring and taking these photos, which would’ve been impossible with a busy timeline!

To end the day, they shared a toast with their favorite local beer (we couldn’t drink on government property, but the gesture was perfect!) before heading off to brunch. It was simple, intentional, and deeply personal — a beautiful reminder that your wedding day can look exactly the way you want it to.
